The Gift of Hope

For over 20 years MidCity Excellence (MCE) Community Learning Center has been providing tutoring, mentoring, and performing arts activities for the inner city and at-risk children in our community. Every year the center serves over 200 youth and their families with the goal of breaking the cycle of poverty, drug use, and suicide that are constant challenges for many of our community youth. Strong emphasis is placed on the importance of completing high school or obtaining a GED certificate. Former program participants include small business entrepreneurs, franchise owners, doctors, and non-profit executives. In addition to youth services, parenting and financial literacy classes help parents obtain skills that are needed to raise and support successful families.

MCE will be hosting the first annual “Gift of Hope” auction on October 15, 2022. This event will provide the funds needed to continue and expand current programming. The event will be held at the St Joseph Country Club and will include live entertainment, a silent auction, and dinner.
